Inspiration: Warm Neutrals

Posted by

Call them what you want -- skin tones, nudes, neutrals -- but we've been seeing a lot of them lately, in everything from stylish wedding gowns and flirty bridesmaid dresses to clean, crisp tuxes and barely there lips and heels. Creams, tans, pale pinks and nudes make for a picturesque wedding palette. Their warmth lends atmospheric romance to a late summer wedding, as you can see in the inspiration board below.

So are you wearing a color other than white? And what about your bridesmaids, are they all in one color and style?

From Top Left: Jewelry, Forever21; bridal headpiece, Sara Gabriel; wedding invitation, Minted; gown, Marchesa; ruffle dress, ASOS; makeup bottles; man's tux; Arnaldo Anaya-Lucca, via GQ; gown, Marchesa; cupcakes, Aaron Delesie; bridal headpieces, Twigs and Honey; pink fabric flowers; hatbox, Anna Kern.

  • Yes! I am wearing Monique Lhuillier's Cinnamon dress in the beautiful warm champagne color it was shown on the runway. I actually love that it's not white and not even off-white! I tried it at a trunk show, and hanging on a wall of white dresses, it just jumped out at me. We're incorporating a of warm gold tones in our wedding decor and lighting as well.

  • Gorgeous! The tones are remarkably chic!

  • Definitely. I just adore this pale palette. I've always wanted to rock a cream gown while my bridesmaids wore nude, and there will be lots of pale pink peonies!

  • my daughter is wearing 'natural' wedding dress w/ a champagne sash. she wants her bridesmaids to wear black but i think it washes her out. suggestions?
