While pulling together the final details for a wedding, I often find myself asking what we should do with the napkin, menu, etc. for each place setting. We often tuck a customized menu for each guest into the dinner napkin, but I think it's sometimes refreshing to keep the table clean and simple, with only a beautifully folded napkins and no chargers. Here are a few images from my travels and events featuring different solutions to place settings.

Sometimes a beautiful napkin ring and a decorative charger like this blue plate are perfect finishing touches. This is from dinner at Hotel Le Toiny.
I love a clean, simple fresh approach, like this one from a special event at the The Modern in NYC. The crisp white napkin is perfect and the small bread plates add a subtle embellishment.
The place setting was very simple for lunch at Capella Pedregal in Mexico but the custom table linen (round to fit a round table) and the lovely accoutrements made the table special.
