Confession: I am in love with postage stamps.
Call me a geek, but I appreciate the fact that each stamp is an itty bitty piece of art that someone designed to adorn the corner of your envelope -- knowing full well that many people won't even notice them. Often, stamps are quite beautiful. I especially like when brides choose groupings of vintage stamps to use when mailing their wedding invitations, as you've seen in many of our stories and real weddings.
A while back, Corinne and I attended the ASDA's (American Stamp Dealers Association) Postage Stamp Mega Event, held at the New Yorker Hotel. We weren't sure what to expect -- we'd never been to the event before -- but we were pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable our experience was. Bonus: entrance was free! The ASDA hosts similar events all over the country, so if you're a fellow philatelist, you should totally check out their event calendar.
Are you planning to use interesting stamps on your wedding mailings? If so, I would love to hear what you're thinking about!

We chose custom wedding stamps using the logo of our reception site! Even though it's a detail most will not realize until the big day, it a great detail that we love!!

We are having our ceremony and reception at an art museum so we chose to use the 'abstract expressionists' commemorative stamps issued in March 2010. Just a small touch but one that ties the whole theme together.

I think using stamps that support a cause is a great way to infuse your values into every part of your wedding.
