Registry: Persephone Books

Posted by

It's miserably cold and rainy in New York -- all this after I put away my winter wardrobe, of course. These kind of days make me want to crawl under a quilt and read a wonderful book. If you're like me, then chances are you like to judge a book by its cover, so when I found Persephone Books a few years ago I immediately fell in love with them. The books, reprints of works by neglected female writers of the 20th century, bound in a gorgeous dove gray, with simple cream labels, reveal a glorious endpaper made from a textile or print made around the same time as the book was originally published. And they're all beautifully written. The most wonderful thing about Persephone Books is that you can become a subscriber and receive one book a month for one year. This is something I would love to be given as a gift and I wouldn't think twice about registering for a subscription to these books on my wedding registry. What do you think? Do you plan on registering for something out of the ordinary?

I think they look lovely all in a row

They also send bookmarks that match each book's endpaper
