Honeymoons: Hawaii

Posted by

Did you watch LOST on Sunday?! I'm sorry to say that I've devoted way too many hours of my life to that labyrinth of a show, but now that it's over I'm feeling nostalgic for the place we've come to know as "The Island." In fact, the show was filmed entirely in Hawaii, and, really, what better place could they have picked as a location? Equal parts adventure, mystery, romance, and relaxation, Hawaii could easily be the site of your honeymoon or destination wedding.

But don't take my word for it: A few nights ago, I had the chance to ask Chef Masaharu Morimoto (of Iron Chef fame) to tell me the one place he'd fly off to if time and money were no object. His answer? "Hawaii. I went there for my honeymoon over 30 years ago. Maui was my favorite island. It's calm and low-key, with good restaurants and very good seafood, and it's not very touristy." So make like Morimoto and have a Hawaiian honeymoon of your own! Below, a few splurge and save suggestions.

  • My grandmother lived in Hilo, and I can't believe they caught a picture of that hotel in the sun...it rains constantly. And I don't mean sprinkles, it's like a monsoon. If it doesn't rain over the course of a day, it's considered a drought. Not kidding.

  • I love the pictures! Actually i love the place, I've been there few months back. Through the help of http://www.alohalgbt.com they made my honeymoon really romantic and unforgettable
