I've always regretted not hosting our wedding on some gorgeous beach. It just seems so utterly romantic. Case in point, today's featured Style Me Pretty real wedding, held on the blissful island of Turks and Caicos a few months ago. Aside from being insanely creative and style savvy, the wedding was also beautiful: The bride, Stacie, is the proprietor of Fleur de Lys Villa, an idyllic spot for weddings, and the bride's home -- lucky girl. But it isn't just the beautiful bride that tugged at my heartstrings. It's the story behind each perfect detail. From the fashion to the flowers, every touch was thoughtfully designed, made, or purchased with the idea that recycled elegance is THE way to build a beautiful wedding. Stacie's insanely gorgeous wedding dress was a handmade eBay find that was only $250. Her shoes? Just $20. The groomsmen donned yellow skull ties, made by RokWear on Etsy. Stacie scoured blogs and websites to hunt down ideas that complemented her laid-back, elegant vibe and handcrafted most of the details, from the shadowbox place settings to the "wish you were here" antique door. She spray painted peanut tins metallic silver and adorned them with seashells from the island, and used old jelly jars as tea-light lanterns that hung from the treas. She even used a washed up tree lost in last year's hurricane as a wishing tree!
All in all, this wedding was a lesson in chic, recycled elegance -- and proof that an absolutely gorgeous wedding is totally attainable on any budget. To find out more about this darling affair, head over to SMP. We've got more details than you can imagine!
