Honeymoon: House Guests?

Posted by Martha Stewart Weddings

You know how hard hotels try to make you feel like you're right at home? Well, forget all that. Miami restaurateur Barton G. Weiss's new boutique hotel reminds you just how far from home you really are -- in a good way. He's redesigned Gianni Versace's former residence on Ocean Drive to create the Villa, an intimate Miami honeymoon and reception site that's the picture of opulence.

It's exactly what you'd expect from both Weiss and Versace: luxuriant furnishings, hand painted frescos on the walls, British-trained butlers, a mosaic- and 24-karat gold inlaid pool, and elegant sitting areas and lounges. The dining room even uses Versace's original signature crystal and china, and you can stay in a redesigned suite Madonna used to call her own. It's enough to make you feel like a queen for a week.

What do you think of staying in someone's former home? Totally cool or way creepy? Or does it depend on whose home it is?
