From the Stationery Files: Hammerpress

Posted by

Hello, everyone! We're trying something new here on the Bride's Guide. Every two weeks I'll be highlighting one of our friends from the stationery world, with the idea that you’ll come to know and love their work as much as we do. So without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to Hammerpress. (You’ll thank me later.)

Read on for more on Hammerpress and tell me: What do you look for in a stationer?

Company name: Hammerpress
Hometown: Kansas City, Missouri
Website: hammerpress.net
Blog: hammerpress.net/blogs/news
Year established: 1994

Hammerpress is a letterpress and design studio located in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Missouri. They create unique wedding invitations for couples who are looking for something a little more extraordinary.

Specialties: exquisite design and superfine letterpress printing

Biggest project: The company recently produced and assembled 300 accordion-style invitations with hand-glued covers and enclosure labels. That translated to lots of blood, sweat, and paper cuts.

Hammerpress LOVES: We love old stuff in new light, woodtype and superfluous ornaments, rusty horseshoes and mediocre tattoos, tacos al pastor, beer at the end of the day, and real music of the 80's.
