Real Wedding Follow-Up: Eunice and Daniel, Part 7

Posted by Shira Savada

Since the set-up in the field was novel for the guests, we wanted to make sure they knew where everything was, from their seats, to the bathrooms, to the guestbook.

Because We Can carved a series of signs for the wedding from my designs.

We loved the Alice in Wonderland-esque directional signs nailed to the tree and the smoking tree sign was somewhat inspired by Magritte's surrealist painting of a pipe.

We had three bathrooms set up (thanks to Royal Restrooms who provided fabulous non-terrifying restrooms). We made three silhouette signs (of myself, Daniel, and our dog Indy) that included banners decorated with crepe paper flowers. They were titled, respectively, "the Loo" (Daniel's British), "Powder Room," and "a Good Spot."

We made tented paper signs that were used throughout the reception area. Below is the sign for our guest book, which was a vintage photo album found at the flea market. We replaced the pages with black cardstock and guests filled it with hilarious photos taken in the photobooth.

The seating chart was carved for us by Because We Can. We made round tags with a circle punch which we gocco-printed with gold animals for table assignments. The names were printed on our inkjet printer and designed to tile and fit into the frame of the chart. They were inspired by Victorian and Edwardian newspaper and advertisement typesetting. The tags were hung from small brass hooks next to each name.
