You'll have to wait until Part 6 to read about the stage we created, but that wasn't the only thing we dreamed up for the ceremony. We dressed up the benches, made multi-purpose programs, dressed up our flower girl, and put together confetti toss pouches for the guests to rip as we walked back up the aisle.
First up, the aisle markers (which I also explain further in the how-to article):
1 The rustic farm-style benches used for the ceremony seating, were rented from Zephyr Tents. They were perfect for the outdoor setting, and we later used them around the dance floor.
2 We made literally hundreds of crepe paper flowers into aisle markers. Thanks to Castle in the Air for keeping us well stocked in awesome German duplex crepe paper!
Since our outdoor ceremony had the potential to heat up, we made the programs double as paddle fans. They were printed on one side with a pattern from Joel Dewberry and on the other with the ceremony details. We also put biodegradable confetti from Ecofetti into pouches made from glassine bags trimmed off with a scalloped rotary blade. We filled them and sewed them shut with tags that said "Love! Love! Love!" a reference to the Beatles' "All You Need is Love," our exit song.
We made this fairytale-inspired crown for Lily, our flower girl (at her request -- she decided that a flower girl couldn't properly execute her position without a crown, and we really couldn't argue); we covered a basic cardboard cutout with vintage German glass glitter and decorated it with crepe paper rosettes. Tricia Roush of House of Nines Design crafted the pleated ring pillow using natural linen and vintage grosgrain ribbon. (There's a how-to for both the crown and the ring pillow, if you want to make either for your own wedding).

Hope I am not bombposting here... but I love me some love! One idea about the confetti being a bit of a pain... throw dried lavender buds - no need to clean, and smells brilliant!
