There's something about vintage jewelry that I just can't get enough of. And I'm not the only one. Over the years, Carole Tanenbaum, who started off collecting antiquities with her husband, has amassed an amazing collection of vintage jewels that cater to the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker (she owns over 200 pieces of Carole's jewelry) and Michelle Obama (she wore a piece to the inaugural ball), among others. So why vintage for your wedding?
According to Carole, vintage jewelry is a great way for you to bring "something old" into your wedding, whether it's a family heirloom or not. Try the look in your hair, with clusters of unexpected brooches placed into an updo, or down the back of your gown. She also suggests wearing cuffs on each wrist combined with a multiple-strand necklace for a modern look. If big and bold isn't your thing, try old-school button earrings.
You can find pieces from her collection at in the know shops such as Ikram in Chicago, or on Carole's website. For the rest of March, Bride's Guide readers can take 20% off their purchase by using the code "martha."
