Last week we tweeted that we were on our way to Soho House New York for a Pretty Party at the Cowshed Spa. Sadly, it's all over. But let me just say: WOW. I've been lucky enough to experience a few different kinds of spa parties in my career as a beauty editor, but nothing—seriously, nothing!—tops this evening of pampering, relaxation, and delicious food. The girls and I (Katie, Britni, Corinne, Sherri, and Shira from the style department, and food editor Elizabeth Colling) were truly blown away. If you're planning on having your bachelorette party in NYC, you can't go wrong with this luxe, yet somehow incredibly low-key experience. Seriously -- forward this post to whoever's planning your party (don't feel bad! I told you to do it!)
We took some photos -- not very good ones, sadly, so I've thrown in some real ones for good measure.
A Pretty Party is half spa party, half dinner party. Here's how it works: You roll up to SoHo house with your girls, get whisked upstairs to change into slippers and cozy robes, and embark on your journey of pampering. Each person chooses two of the following spa treatments: mani, massage, facial, and body scrub. In between them, you'll relax with your girls in a candlelit private room that's stocked with fruit, veggies, pastries, and champagne. I had a full-body massage and a manicure, and again, all I can say is WOW. After a long day at the office, I think I speak for all of us when I say the treatments were pretty indulgent.
After a few hours in the spa, you'll be brought upstairs for a three-course dinner. SoHo house is a celebrity hotspot, so with any luck you'll be seated at a table next to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. And who knows? Maybe she'll be so jealous of your glowing, freshly facialed skin, that she'll ask for your autograph! (What? A girl can dream!!) Anyways, wine will flow, and platters of family-style food will be placed in front of you. Our spread of amazingness included lemon artichoke pasta, grilled salmon, beet salad with smoked goat cheese (yum!), and grilled shrimp. Just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat another bite, the desserts came out. Needless to say, we ate another bite. And so will you -- the desserts are heaven.
Finally, stuffed full of gourmet food and glowing from head to toe, you'll head home (or out for a night on the town, if that's your thing!) with a goodie bag of Cowshed products in hand...all for under $300 each. Amazing.

I bet you did have a great time! I had a spa party of my 40th and it was so relaxing and fun. The photo of the pool on the roof makes me jealous - the spa I went to didn't have that.....
