For the memory-keeping story in our winter issue, Lauren Richel Kelly, Nick Andersen (a talented member of the crafts department), and I worked to brainstorm great ways to keep the memories of your wedding alive. We crafted, we researched, and we think the final story came out just great! Here are some behind the scenes shots.
Stylist Shane Powers and Nick start to hang our frames of pressed flowers. They used this big piece of kraft paper with cutouts sized to the frames so they could get the placement just right.
We used a few photo strips from Lily & John's wedding. They definitely had some animated guests in attendance.
Nick took the stationery suite from Carrot & Stick Press and punched out hearts of different sizes. Then he glued them together to make the flowers.
Associate Art Director Lauren Richel Kelly was our hand model for the how-to shots on the guestbook quilt. A little tidbit about Lauren (and perhaps a qualifier for her being a model in this particular shot): She actually went to a quilting camp when she was younger.
