There’s something about the late 60s that had such a unique impact on culture, art, music, and fashion, and something about this retro palette of golden yellows, white, and green has me feeling nostalgic for an earthy summer wedding. When I stumbled upon this photo (by erinyes) on flickr of Mimi Farina‘s wedding in 1968, it was like a breath of fresh air. The lush, loose crown of daisies on her head, her long dark locks, the simple white dress—they invite you to dream about a free-spirited wedding.
Thinking about a relaxed, vintage-inspired wedding outdoors this summer or fall? What about dancing under the stars or an outdoor brunch in a pear or quince orchard? That seems pretty boho-chic to me!
Top row from left: These sweet retro-looking save the dates by ello invitations are the perfect match for a ceremony in a poppy field. Vintage mixed matched plates add the right touch to the reception. And why not set up a lovely photo backdrop for casual memories for you and your guest, as in Lena & Joshua’s wedding from our Spring 2006 issue. Nicolette Camille created these carefree boutonnieres that go just perfectly with the mood.
