SPRING GREENS and CHOCOLATE BROWNS
time last year, I was a little nervous that the large trees marking our
ceremony location would still be bare and gray. I closely watched the trees on my walk to work and felt much relief
when the saplings on 28th Street were in full bloom a week before our big day. Luckily, lots of April showers created a vibrant green
backdrop just in time for us to tie the knot. And this being May 4th, I'm expecting the same thing to happen this year—any day now really. Thinking back, I loved the combination of lush green leaves mixed with warm brown trunks and branches. Why not incorporate those colors into your palette? The beautiful tree illustration, below center, by Anna of Rifle design,
would make a lovely save-the-date or even a guest book! Anna's hand-drawn type would look nice paired with a typewriter script like Prestige,
below. And while it looks like a bit of work, there is something really
beautiful about the crochet-covered tree, below right, appearing at
your outdoor ceremony or reception.
Is anyone getting married outside this summer? What's the backdrop of your ceremony? Are you using the greenery to color your palette?
