A Muted Mix

WARM GRAY, PUMPKIN, MUTED AQUA, OCHRE, and a touch of RED

I love the design work of Blanca Gomez, below, left. Her balloon illustration, "Monsieur II," incorporates the most lovely palette of rich, muted hues, so I used them to create this palette perfect for a fantastic late summer or fall wedding. What I love most about Blanca's palette is the mix of warm and cool colors. The pop of aqua is a bit unexpected and adds a little more interest. You could use a combination of all five (we just photographed a wedding last weekend with 5 different colors of bridesmaids dresses (such a brilliant surprise and a great way to add color) or choose just a few and incorporate them throughout all of your details. The log bowls from Loyal Loot echo the rich colors of Blanca's piece. They would be a nice addition to any dessert buffet or display. The peony and amaryllis bouquet uses this palette in a softer way – perfect if you're going paler for the ceremony and a bit brighter for the reception.

Is anyone doing a soft version of their palette for the ceremony and a brighter version at the reception?
