Hey, everyone! Sorry Grace can't be here today. With just two weeks to go before the big day, a nasty virus has taken hold of her laptop! But don’t fret, she’ll be back tomorrow.
Which got me to thinking: There are bound to be some brides out there who've been caught off guard by some last minute snafu. In fact, I remember hearing about a bride who had to find a new venue three weeks before her wedding because the owners sold the one she had booked a year in advance!
Have any of you had something like that happen to you during the home stretch leading up to your wedding? How did you make the best of it? Want to share any tips on how to make it through the last few weeks with minimal stress levels?

It wasn't quite in the home stretch, but our band "broke up" less than two months before the wedding. The bad part? At that point, the majority of other bands were booked. The good part? One we really liked wasn't, so we got a great deal and they did an amazing job.
I think you just have to assume that things will go wrong. Take a deep breath and remember that at the end of the day, as long as you're married, that's all that really matters.

Well, it's not quite the home stretch, but in January we found out that my sister's school decided to postpone their graduation ceremonies by one week. Of course, the weekend they postponed it to is the weekend of my wedding. Everything of course had already been booked and money deposited, so there was nothing we could do. (Her school is also about six hours away from the site of the wedding, so there is no shuttling back and forth unfortunately.) My sister is my maid of honor and is very sadly but graciously missing her and her friends college graduation to attend my wedding. I love her and appreciate her so much!
I hope that this is the last of the things to go "wrong" but we have two months to go, so we'll see. I'm trying to take it all in stride and know that at the end of the day I'll have a wonderful husband and my family by my side.

In a wedding I was a bridesmaid for, the bride booked a venue in which the ceremony was to take place outdoors under dual olive trees framing a fountain. 4 days before the wedding, she checked in with the venue to find out the gardeners had given the olive trees their annual trim. The only thing left were stubs.
Her genius fiance who works in special effects in the entertainment industry, called up a prop department who provided real trimmed olive tree branches. The groom, a few groomsmen and the hotel manager spent the day before the wedding up in the trees wiring in fake/real branches to look as natural as possible. The day of the wedding guests were astonished to hear about the story since the wired branches looked so natural that no one would've ever suspected.
