Right before my wedding this past November, my sister Jordan and I had a heated argument about her bronzing habits (she tends to go a little nuts with the tan in a can, and I was worried that she'd look like an oompa-loompa in photos).
Finally, we agreed to a compromise: She’d cut the bronzer in half for my wedding, and I would never, ever criticize her orange skin again. On the big day, Jordan kept her word. Her golden skin looked gorgeous against her bronze (ironic, isn’t it?) dress, and she stole the spotlight in pictures not because she was neon, but because she looked so darn radiant.
My sister, Jordan. Thanks for looking like this:
...and not this!
To help you glow your way down the aisle this spring/summer, I asked Jordan (who better?) to help me hone in on the best bronzer, instant self-tanner, and gradual self-tanner. Here's the list:
JEMMA KIDD Show Glow Bronzing Powder is a bronzer/blush combo. The bronzer is warm, not muddy, with just the right amount of shimmer—and the rosy blush adds a touch of believable flush.
CLARINS Self Tanning Instant Gel absorbs instantly, which means unlike other formulas, this one won't rub off on your clothes. Plus, it works fast—in just two hours, you'll have a serious (but realistic-looking) tan!
COPPERTONE Endless Summer Gradual Tan Moisturizing Lotion is the best gradual self-tanner we've tried—hands down. It builds slowly, so it may take a few days before you see serious color. In my opinion, though, the glow you'll have on day two is wedding-day perfect.
