Wear These Sculptures

I certainly didn't have a traditional wedding. I considered myself a modern bride when I walked down the aisle (my future husband and I were both artists), so I wore a short dress and flats. The one thing I did rely on tradition for was my jewelry. I borrowed a friend's pearl earrings and bracelet and called it a day.

If I could go back in time, I would make more of a statement with my jewelry. These clear bangles and earrings by Cara Croninger would have definitely done the trick. Croninger uses sculptural shapes that are abstracted to build her pieces, made from plastics and resins. Her jewelry has not only been seen in boutiques, but in museums as well. You can find a list of retailers on her website.

What are you thinking? Traditional pearls, or something a little more unexpected?

  • Honestly, I didn't put any thought into this at my wedding, and happened to have been given some as a present for my wedding day. If I could go back and choose I'd probably be far more adventurous! I love those bangles.

  • Although I'm happy with the jewelry I borrowed from my grandmother on my wedding day, at my next wedding ;) I'd wear these!

  • I also considered myself to be a modern bride. I borrowed a beautiful antique necklace from my mother-in-law and was given a pair of blue topaz and gold earrings to where.
We hired a local artisan to create two custom wedding bands for us. They are silver and have a beautiful vine pattern imprinted on them.
I am in love with those clear bangle braclets. Whem my sister gets married I will have to get her one of those as a gift.
Thank you for sharing her website. She is now one of my favourite designers!

  • Beautiful jewelry.
