When I bought my first digital camera years ago, I thought I’d be the type who would tote it around everywhere, the sort who snaps pictures at the drop of a hat and captures every little detail, however mundane, of her life. I thought I’d be a digital-age Cartier Bresson.
Not even close. My camera sat in my purse for weeks, barely used, and after a while, I stopped pretending altogether and placed it on my bookshelf. So imagine my surprise (and dread) when my husband gifted me with the Flip Mino ($180), a super-slim camcorder. I thought it would suffer the same sad fate as my camera.
I was wrong. It’s so small and unobtrusive (mini-iPod size) and so, so easy to use that it’s become a near-constant companion. It’s best for shooting short snippets—it can store only 60 minutes of video—which makes it a perfect gadget to pack for your honeymoon. Just toss it into you beach bag or purse, and you’ll be all set to capture the beautiful little moments that make your trip so special. After all, brevity is the soul of home movies....well, at least, it should be.
Note: Flip has recently come out with a high-definition version that’s just $50 more.
Do you plan to take a camcorder with you one your honeymoon, or will you just take your digital camera?

I would have if we had them back then. We got them for our first anniversary. It would have been great to have video!

Thanks for the review. I'm leaning towards the HD version.
