Red Carpet Roundup

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you all watched the Academy Awards last night. (If you didn't, what do you live under a rock? That is unless you were boycotting all the conspicuous consumption in the face of these hard economic times, to which I say, you're a much better person than I am!)
Anywho, we're always telling you that the bridal industry is mirroring the fashion industry more and more these days. Here are some beautiful white gowns sure to be reincarnated in bridal collections to come.
It's a little controversial, but I loved this dress on Marisa Tomei. Look at all that pleating! And the one-shoulder dress is so big in bridal fashion right now. True, it's closer to gray than white, but I'm sure we've got some modern girls out there who can rock an off color for their own weddings.
The ethereal layers on this gown, worn by Taraji P. Henson, are gorgeous. And that train is so dramatic. Again, it's not quite white, but look at how luminous her skin looks against this cream color. Very few people can wear a bright white gown, especially those with lighter skin. Taraji shows us that the alternative (a warmer white) is even prettier.

Penelope Cruz looks stunning. The beading, the tulle, the strapless bodice—all bridal hallmarks. She looks like a princess, which is a good thing because she actually won!
What do you think of these red-carpet fashions? Have any of them inspired you enough to look for the like in your gown searches? Did I miss anything noteworthy, or do I just have heinous taste? Let me know!
