Back to Reprodepot today and found another great fabric for a brighter (yes, I'm usually drawn to the gloomy blues) palette. To my great surprise, it was another fabric from my favorite Finnish design firm. Guess I've got a running theme here! This print was designed by Kristina Isola in 2007 for Marimekko. It also comes in a bunch of other colors. I'd love to use this fabric as a tablecloth for reception tables. Learning to sew is on my list for my wedding on a budget...a rectangular tablecloth can't be that hard right?

Oh I love this colorful palette!!! The inspiration board is beautiful--what a great cake. Unfortunately, I don't have any sewing tips...I need to learn myself!

If you are just making rectangle cloths you don't even need to sew them just get no sew hem tape (you iron it on)it will save you time as well as not cause you the stress of learning how to sew while planning a wedding.

So true about the no sew hem tape. Great idea! Thanks so much...this may just get me out of sewing until I have to try to make drapes for my new house!

My color palette is based on a Marimekko fabric too! I wanted to make tablecloths as well but @ $42/yard, that's way too expensive. I'm going to make table runners instead. Still going to spend quite alot, but it'll be well worth it! Good luck!

I love looking at the various creative color palettes you've created. I've posted some of my own on my blog blisslistkc.blogspot.com. I'd love to see what you think about them! Some of the colors I've combined are Canary & Slate, Tiffany & Blush, Navy & Ivory, and Ivory & White (my favorite!). Happy Planning!
