I've been looking at gowns for hours and found four that I really like. They are by a designer named Jenny Packham. I must admit that I just happened upon her name on the Ultimate Bride site and then remembered that I had seen her gorgeous 1930s style gown in the Spring 08 Weddings.
Here are my top picks from the Jenny Packham line. I seem to be in a deep v-neck kinda mood. Two of the dresses appear to be a little less white (one on the gray and one heading toward the creamy side.) What do you think about wearing a wedding dress that isn't pure white? I'm also wondering how easy it will be able to dance and move around in these dresses. I'm afraid I might trip or stick the heel of my shoe through the delicate layers. Any thoughts?

I'm all for not wearing a pure white wedding dress. Pure white does not compliment my skin tone well at all. While most people look tan wearing pure white, I look red and that's a look I want to avoid on my wedding day. I also went for a short, tea-lenth dress, since I have an outdoor wedding on a ranch and the wedding will stretch into the wee-hours of the night. I didn't want to be dragging around a heavy dress the whole time. It's actually very hard to find a shorter wedding dress. I found mine though Nordstrom's from the JS Collection.

The 3rd dress is blowing my mind! Beautiful. Yes, I think layers are something that NEED to be considered if you want to boogie down. I ruined some of the layers on my dress when my father-in-law flung me across the dance floor. YIKES. Or perhaps an answer is to get a second "party" dress for the reception??

these dresses are stunning! there is nothing wrong with going for an off-white color...i agree with Sarah, certain shades of white look better on different skin tones and you should choose what looks best for you on your big day! i know many people who change at their reception in order to be able to dance, but that also means adding a second dress to your budget (unless you already have one that would work)...

I LOVE Jenny Packham. She has some of the most unique wedding dresses I've seen! And these are incredible! The last one is easily my favorite but I love the hem on the second one!

I adore Jenny Packham's line and am desperately trying to find a 1930's vintage feel gown for my wedding (unfortunately JP is waaaay out my budget). If you like these you may also like a dress by Charlotte Balbier called Tabitha.
