Eva Scrivo, Martha's makeup artist and owner of Eva Scrivo Salon here in New York just walked by my office and filled me in on a new product she's been using and loving. She has been doing a light dusting of mineral powder foundation after applying all other makeup. According to Eva, this gives you a fabulous glow and is great for photos. In fact, grooms have even been known to do a light dusting for a hidden but photogenic glow! Check out mineral powder foundations by Bare Escentuals at Sephora.

Hm. While I adore mineral makeup, I've consistently heard it's a bad idea come photography time, as the titanium dioxide, etc., reflects too much light.

Eva is so pretty. You can see how Martha's skin has changed over the years. It's gotten better and better! I'm going to be a bridesmaid this summer. I wonder - should I ask the bride on whether her makeup artist will do our makeup as well or should I just plan to do it myself?

I agree with LK, I've also heard that it's not a good idea. Any foundation with an SPF in it does the same reflecting in photos and should be avoided too.

I got married almost two years ago, and while I was in the process,I created something that really helps a bride as she tests her hair, makeup and jewelry. It's called the Bridal Mini. It looks like the top half of a wedding gown. I wanted my gown with me as I tested everything, but didn't want to risk staining it. That's when I realized I didn't need the whole gown, just the top half! It's portable and your gown stays safe and sound.
