Monique's New China Collection

Posted by

Two nights ago I attended Bloomingdale's' Pre-Wedding Wedding Party in New York City, where I was lucky enough to run into designer to the stars Monique Lhuillier. (I also saw her present her newest fashion collection, which was spectacular, under the tents in Bryant Park this week.) She was unveiling her new line of fine china, which she has designed using clever patterns—like one based on lace— for the Royal Doulton label, available exclusively at Bloomingdale's through March, then available nationwide. I especially love the Dentelle and Femme Fatale patterns.

And if you love patterned china as much as I do, look out for our spring issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, on newsstands in April. We'll show you how to mix and match patterns to create a chic, eclectic table setting. Would you consider mixing patterns on your dinner table?

  • Monique is the new Vera! I love her dresses and I'm sure her china will exceed the customers expectations. Can't go wrong with Monique Lhuillier

  • I am OBsessed wtih mixing patterns anywhere, but especially on a table! Can't wait for the new wedding isssue to see how ya'll put it together there! Thanks Darcy!

  • I got married a year ago and chose several Royal Copenhagen patterns, all blue and white. I was a little nervous about it until I saw the Royal Copenhagen display at Barneys, which made me feel as if I had the expert seal of approval! I love a mixed table setting.

  • I'm so glad that mixed table settings are "acceptable" because this is what I have been planning on doing for, well, forever!
I will be inheriting china from my mother that I love and is very pretty, but there are some broken pieces and it is no longer available (it was my great grandmother's wedding china originally). So my plan is to register for another formal setting that compliments my mother's china. Then I can mix and match and always have enough for even the largest parties!
PS: I absolutely adore Monique L'Hullier.
