I thought you’d like to see a shot of our Today show bride at her dress fitting last week.
That’s Jessica (in the middle, obviously!) with me (on the right) and Reem Acra, who’s making her gown. (I know I cropped the photo to weird dimensions, but she’s wearing the gown in it, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise!
I’ve already said brides need to bring their wedding-day shoes to their dress fittings. It’s also a good idea to bring your undergarments (you wouldn’t want anything to show!) and accessories, as well. Wear your hair the way you’re planning on wearing it at your wedding–no need to get it styled professionally, but wear it up or down as you would at the ceremony. And try on different jewelry combinations. Though there are no hard-and-fast rules. Generally, if you’re wearing big, sparkly earrings, you don’t need a necklace, too—but do what feels right for you.
Jess’s wedding jewelry will be borrowed from Tiffany & Co. I know most brides can’t borrow from a jeweler, but I still love the idea of “something borrowed” for your wedding day. If a friend or family member has a piece you adore, she’d probably be honored to let you wear it.
