A Gift That Keeps Giving

Posted by

If four-legged friends have a special place in your heart, why not skip traditional favors, and help out some in-need cats and dogs instead? One hundred percent of the money received by the Biscuit Fund is spent on the medical care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, or abused animals. There are lots of special ways you can let guests know you’re making a donation in their names. Here is one of my favorites. The Biscuit Fund also offers a “registry” service that allows your guests to give in your name in lieu of traditional presents. Now that's puppy love.

  • I think that's a lovely idea. I had a friend who in lieu of favors donated money to St. Jude's. Most people don't keep favors anyways.

  • I think that's great that many people make donations in lieu of the traditional favors. I didn't know about this pet one, but I've known people who have given to Make-a-Wish, breast cancer awareness funds, and the Red Cross. Knowing me, I always just keep the little tag that says the couple made the donation as my keepsake from the wedding.
